Meet The Founder

Hi, I’m Cheryl, the founder of CareHaven Connect, built right here on the Gulf Coast. My background includes years working in high-acuity healthcare, including the ICU—where I saw firsthand how quickly families can become overwhelmed trying to manage medical information, schedules, medications, and communication. Today, as a mental health provider, I also see the emotional side of supporting a loved one: stress, burnout, anxiety, grief, and the invisible weight families carry day after day. Through my work, I’ve developed a deep respect and admiration for caregivers—people who continue showing up tirelessly, again and again, often while holding far more than anyone realizes. CareHaven Connect was created to bring calm to the chaos—giving families one organized space to coordinate, share updates, and stay connected. It’s built on a simple belief: the people holding everything together deserve tools that truly make life easier, not more complicated.

Beyond the Work

When I’m not working, I value quiet time to restore and reset. After working 20 years on night shift (and genuinely loving it), I’ve always found comfort in the stillness of evenings. I enjoy reading articles, meaningful conversations, and decompressing with cooking shows or reality TV. It’s also fun testing new recipes that I find on social media. Having previously served as a medical foster for reduce animals created an experience that was deeply rewarding and continues to shape how I view compassion and advocacy.

A Note on the Journey

And while this might surprise some people, I stared this journey with no formal tech background at all. I simply saw a need that wasn’t being met and refused to let that stop me. Step by step, I learned what I need to learn and created a working prototype of the app and website- built with real families in mind and commitment to making more accessible.
